Our Origins

Me3D was founded in late 2013 in the engineering hub of Wollongong, New South Wales. Originally it was just three old uni friends tinkering in the garage. We were trying to figure out how to show everyone the incredible possibilities of 3D printing. We also wanted to bring it into everyday life. Our mission was to prevent 3D printing from following the same very slow adoption path that personal computing took. Finally, we were going to make sure that this tech ended up in the hands of every kid as early as possible.

Today, we are backed by close ties to the University of Wollongong and the iAccelerate programme. We are quickly expanding throughout the school's networks. Me3D is establishing an exceptional reputation for being an inspiring company as a result of our amazing customer service and commitment to education.

Manufacturing

Greenacres Industries manufacture all of our 3D printers and provide support and maintenance for our product. Greenacres is an Australian Disabilities Enterprise with AS/NZS ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System certification.

Our ongoing partnership provides meaningful, challenging work for the supported employees and a unique opportunity to develop future proof skills. We are committed to creating jobs in Australia, by supporting today's local workforce while future proofing the skills of the next generation.

Our operational mission is first of all to add as much value through our local supply chain as possible. We actively promote our inspiring company journey to encourage other businesses to add maximum value to the local economy.

STEM education

STEM education (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths) is a recognised national priority, critical to the development of the future smart workforce. 3D printing has been identified as a key technology in these future industries due to its powerful flexibility of application. It engages all elements of STEM and attracts kids to technology based study. Most noteworthy is its effectiveness in engaging girls and young women in STEM projects.

Me3D has designed a range of 3D printer products specifically for teaching additive fabrication and enabling a host of STEM learning objectives.

We take a hands on approach to all aspects of our products so that users don’t just observe, they connect with what they are doing.

  • Values
  • METHOD
“Through their engagement with 3D printing, we reveal the brilliance of every child.”
Inspire more kids, especially girls, to study STEM. Bring forward advanced STEM concepts to a younger age group through access and exposure and finally, remove the fear of failure.
Drive increased retention in STEM fields throughout schooling by providing a method and framework for teachers to allow flexible learning.
REALLY engage students by inspiring curiosity, personalising their experience. Provide an outlet for demonstration of their work and consequently draw them deeper into the material.
